OPEN CALL FOR ABSTRACT REVIEWERS
All abstracts submitted to the ESTRO Annual Congress are peer-reviewed by the Review Committee. The resulting abstract scores guide the Scientific Programme Committee in choosing abstracts for the different categories of the sessions (proffered papers, mini-orals, poster discussion and digital posters). This input from the radiotherapy community ensures a fair and equitable selection of abstracts.
To ensure that the Review Committee is made up of peers, ESTRO likes to refresh its members regularly. For this reason, we are launching an open call for new abstract reviewers.
REVIEWING ABSTRACTS
The pool of potential abstract reviewers receives an invitation in September to review abstracts for the annual congress of the year after (in May). If a potential reviewer accepts, they will confirm their review topics. Reviewers are asked to score an average of 50 abstracts, with a maximum of 70. The review period takes place over two weeks in November.
Abstract Reviewers, and their invaluable contribution to the scientific programme, are acknowledged in congress materials.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The application period has closed. All submissions will be assessed and notifications sent out in Septpber 2023.
For any questions, please email programme@estro.org.
ABSTRACT TOPICS
The ESTRO Annual Congress accepts abstracts under six main tracks. These tracks are split into various topics:
ESTRO would like to involve the radiotherapy professionals in the earlier stages of their career but understands becoming an abstract reviewer may be a bit daunting. To encourage more junior professionals, we will implement a coaching scheme where young reviewers can reach out to an experienced reviewer for help and to guide them through the process.
