Falcon 2024 Online Course - Prostate Cancer; Post-Op Setting

Radical prostatectomy represents one of the curative alternatives to treat prostate cancer. Unfortunately, up to 50 % of patients might experience a relapse after surgery and could require radiotherapy to the prostate bed as salvage treatment. Post-operative RT is subjected to various controversies regarding target volume definition, dose prescription and fractionation.

The post-operative prostate online workshop is case-based comprehensive course. During the workshop indications and contouring guidelines for postoperative patients will be discussed. Participants will be invited to contour a real case; their volumes will be compared with the teacher´s contours giving them the opportunity to discuss the differences and learn from discrepancies. The goal of this workshop is to reduce volume definition variability to achieve maximum loco-regional control while avoiding unnecessary side effects that will affect the quality of life of patients.

These online delineation workshops are aimed at junior clinical or radiation oncologists who want to improve their contouring skills or at more senior specialists who want to refresh and validate their knowledge and skills in this field.

Before the workshop, pre-workshop homework will be sent out that needs to be complete before the workshop. This will be accompanied with prerecorded instructions how to use Falcon Educase and how to logon for the first session with Zoom. This will be sent one week before the first workshop lesson. On the first online lesson the faculty members will give a guideline presentation, and will review and comment your pre-workshop contours. Participants are requested to contour the case the second time based on the taught guidelines. On the second online lesson the faculty members will compare the first and the second submitted contours to the reference contours and generally comment the delineations.
