The identification of head and neck patients at risk of severe acute and late toxicities during and after radiotherapy is an ongoing challenge. This process is slowed by the heterogeneity in the radiosensitivity of head and neck tumours. Several approaches are under investigations. This talk will first review efforts to identify molecular markers or set of markers associated with specific toxicities and their grade and later propose that the analysis of molecular imaging with radiomics can advance this goal.
