ESTRO 2021 Board elections – A word from the President - PDF Version

Dear colleagues, dear friends,

I would like to spend a few words on this year’s elections, which represent a key moment in the life of our Society. On 25 February 2021, we opened a ballot for a clinical seat on the Board. As you know, each member of the ESTRO board of directors serves a three-year term, which can be renewed once.

With Anna Kirby’s election to President-Elect in 2020, a clinical seat became vacant and Yolande Lievens kindly accepted to continue supporting the Board as a non-voting Director until new elections for a clinician could take place. I would like to thank Yolande for her passionate and continued commitment to our Society. Yolande has served both as ESTRO President and member of the Board, and is still supporting ESTRO in a variety of roles. She has done outstanding work over the years, and for that, we are all truly grateful.

The candidates for this year’s elections are Esther Troost from Dresden and Fiona McDonald from London. We welcome their participation, and are anxiously awaiting the result of the elections. You can find more information about the candidates on the ESTRO’s election webpage.

The ballot will run until 17 March 2021. We urge you not to forget to vote. Beware that only 2021 ESTRO full members who were also members in 2020 are eligible to vote!

Best wishes,
