At the third flash radiotherapy and particle therapy conference (FRPT 2023), researchers and students from academia and industry will gather with professionals who work in clinical oncology (clinicians, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiotherapy technologists and nurses). It will be a multidisciplinary forum for attendees to discuss the latest developments in FLASH radiotherapy.

The goal of the conference is to discuss the potential for FLASH radiotherapy in a rigorous scientific and quality-assured environment and to act as a forum for explanation of the latest advances in this rapidly developing field. The aim is to build a worldwide organisation of scientists and professionals interested in FLASH radiotherapy that uses protons, electrons, heavier charged ions and photons.

This year’s conference programme is built around five main tracks: modalities, mechanisms, FLASH in clinical and pre-clinical settings, proton beams and heavy ions, and spatial fractionation.

The cutting-edge programme will highlight the areas of substantial recent progress while posing the tough questions in cases in which progress has been challenging. The organising committee has combined its members’ efforts to ensure that the programme will be diverse and exciting and contain the latest innovations and research in the field. There will be plenary and invited talks from internationally recognised leaders and stimulating debates on controversial topics.

There will be ample opportunities for professional networking. The social programme promises to be exciting and engaging while enabling participants to experience the welcoming culture of Toronto. The city is lively, vibrant, and multicultural, and stunning Niagara Falls is an easy day trip from the city centre.

The FRPT 2023 organising committee comprises Karen Kirkby, Marie-Catherine Vozenin, Jan Schuemann, Andrew McPartlin, Marianne Koritzinsky, Albert C. Koong and Daniel Letourneau.
