Dear Colleague,

We would like to draw your attention to one vacancy on the ESTRO radiation oncology safety and quality committee (ROSQC).

ROSQC activities are aimed at improving safety and quality in the planning and delivery of radiotherapy and raising compliance of member states with the legal requirements defined in relevant European directives.

The ROSQC strives to support ESTRO as it leads the education, research and development aspects of the delivery of high-quality, safe radiotherapy and to help strengthen ESTRO’s position in defining and participating in EU research projects.

The ROSQC has set up working groups that are led by members of the ROSQC, with additional participants who are invited to join based on their interest/expertise in each area. These working groups cover:

·        risk management and the Radiation Oncology Safety Education and Information System (ROSEIS) platform

·        cyberattack, preventative measures, and emergency response

·        definitions of radiation protection in radiotherapy to more accurately reflect the issues of modern radiotherapy approaches

·        publications – the ESTRO newsletter ROSQC corner

·        development of education and educational materials

·        implementation of new/innovative technologies or techniques

The ROSQC is a multi-disciplinary committee for the three disciplines that work in radiotherapy and are affiliated with different aspects of quality and safety. The term of membership on the committee is three years and can be renewed once. For more information about our members and activities, visit our website (ESTRO ROSQC)

As a ROSQC member, you will:

  •  work with a highly motivated group of other committee members
  •  help to organise our activities, such as screening projects, and be aware of quality and safety-related topics
  • contribute to our ROSQC newsletter, etc
  • spend one hour per week on average on committee activities
