Anne Niezink

Biography

Anne Niezink is a radiation oncologist working at the UMCG, with special interests in hematology and lung and esophageal cancer. She finished her medical degree in 2009 at the Radboud University Nijmegen and became a master in health care management in 2012 at the University of Twente. She continued her career as a resident in Radiation Oncology in the UMCG and Radiotherapy Institute Friesland, which she completed in 2017. During her residency she started with her PhD, under supervision of prof. dr. Hans Langendijk (UMCG) and prof. dr. Joachim Widder (Medical University of Vienna), on cardiac- and pulmonary toxicity after thoracic radiotherapy. After her residency she was appointed a staff membership at the department of Radiation Oncology of the UMCG. In the last years her clinical and research work focusses on the introduction of proton therapy for mediastinal lymphoma patients and using radiotherapy in patients selected for CAR T-cell therapy. She is a member of the EORTC lymphoma group, the national platform for hematology (LPRH), the national immune effector cell working group and the international lymphoma radiation oncology group (ILROG).
