ESTRO’s Physics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology Journal approved for impact factor - PDF Version

Dear Physics Colleagues,

We would like to share with you a major update on the recent progress of the online Journal Physics and Imaging in Radiation Oncology (phiRO) which is published by the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). As you probably know, phiRO has become a well-established, open-access journal that is included in all relevant databases (e.g. PubMedCentral, Scopus and Embase). We have recently been informed that phiRO will receive its first impact factor for 2022 (to be released in June 2023). This achievement represents recognition of more than five years of work to build a high-quality physics and imaging journal that serves the needs of clinical and academic medical physicists in radiation oncology. The profile of phiRO is unique, as it is the only journal that covers physics and imaging research for radiation oncology specifically.

As well as the regular journal, we publish special thematic issues and collections of the highlight papers from the ESTRO conferences. You are also invited to read the editorial from our January 2022 volume, which highlights our first five years of operation (sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2405631622000240).

Original research articles in phiRO must be a maximum of 3,000 words in length and may contain up to six tables and/or figures; additional information can be enclosed as supplementary materials. The editors and editorial board members of phiRO, with our team of high-quality reviewers, are committed to continuing our work for the benefit of physicists and imaging scientists in our field.
